LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – A California man is accused of secretly filming two women in the bathroom of a hotel room in Las Vegas.
James Twerion was arrested in Riverside, California on May 4 in connection with the reported incident at the Vdara Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip on February 28, 2020.
According to a warrant from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, a woman and her adult daughter were staying at the hotel for a birthday party. Twerion allegedly booked the room for them, according to the report.
During the stay, one of the women saw a USB charger in the bathroom and took it out to plug in other things. Twerion “got furious” and told him to stop moving the loader, according to the report.
Twerion’s behavior made them suspect, police said in the report. One of the women noticed a light inside the charger and thought it might be a camera. The report also states that Twerion had electrical cords sticking out of his luggage.
One of the women began placing a towel on the charger when she was in the bathroom, according to the report. The women also said that Twerion did not use the charger during the stay.
Eventually, the women called hotel security and opted to stay with their families in town rather than at the hotel, according to the report. Hotel security said they found a small lens inside the charger and called the police, but Twerion had already left the hotel.
Police further investigated the device on April 10, 2020. Investigators said the device contained images of the naked victims as they entered and exited the shower while there. An arrest warrant was issued on April 22, 2020.
Twerion was arrested on the warrant in Riverside on May 4, 2022 and was extradited to Las Vegas. His next hearing has been set for July 21, according to court records.
