1 dead, 2 injured in shooting at popular Las Vegas hotel; suspect arrested

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5/Gray News) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a suspect was arrested Friday morning after a shooting in a room at the Mirage Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip left one dead and in injured two others.

Capt. Dori Koren of the Bureau of Homicide and Sex Crimes said the suspect was identified, located and arrested within six hours of Thursday night’s incident.

The two survivors of the shooting are in critical condition.

“We can tell you, at least tentatively, that there was an altercation that occurred in the room between four individuals who we all believe were known to each other. And during that altercation, the one individual shot the other three individuals,” Koren said during a briefing overnight.

At one point it was reported that the police had completely locked down the hotel.

Police posted on Twitter just after 10 p.m. alerting the public to the shooting.
